SHINING 3D Unveils EinScan Rigil Lite, Expanding the High- Performance All-in-One Rigil Series

The launch of Rigil Lite builds on the technical foundation of the Rigil Series, SHINING 3D’s vision for a fully integrated all-in-one 3D scanner.

With over 20 years of expertise in high-precision 3D scanning technology, SHINING 3D officially launched the EinScan Rigil Lite in April this year, further expanding its all-in-one 3D scanning portfolio for professional users.

As the latest addition to the Rigil Series, Rigil Lite features a hybrid light-source system with 17+17 crossed blue laser lines, 7 parallel blue laser lines, and infrared VCSEL. It also supports wireless operation and introduces innovative multi-alignment technology for smoother tracking. It reliably captures detailed scans of reflective metals, black plastics, and a wide range of other materials under varying environmental lighting conditions, making it suitable for objects of all sizes and delivering resolution of up to 0.05 mm.

The launch of Rigil Lite builds on the technical foundation of the Rigil Series, SHINING 3D’s vision for a fully integrated all-in-one 3D scanner. First introduced in 2025 with the debut of EinScan Rigil, the world’s first Tri-Mode all-in-one 3D scanner, the Rigil Series supports standalone operation through a unified design integrating the scanner, display, computing, storage, and power supply, alongside wired and wireless PC-connected modes. With integrated software enabling the complete workflow to be carried out directly on-device, the Rigil Series helps professional users maintain strong scanning performance while reducing overall system complexity and total cost.

Following six months of continuous optimization, the Rigil platform was further enhanced with the V1.2 firmware and software upgrades released in February 2026, bringing comprehensive improvements in performance, workflow efficiency, and tracking smoothness. Within this product family, EinScan Rigil Lite offers a cost-effective option that retains the core capabilities of the Rigil Series while making professional everyday 3D scanning more accessible.

Multiple Scanning Modes– Adaptive with Hybrid Light Source

Rigil Lite integrates two scanning systems with multiple light sources to meet diverse scanning requirements—from fine details to large-scale objects. It balances high detail and edge quality while offering a wide and long-range working distance. The 17+17 crossed laser lines enable high-speed scanning, and the 7 parallel laser lines capture fine details. Dual-laser switching provides flexibility for both speed and detail. NIR VCSEL allows rapid scanning of large objects in both indoor and outdoor environments, and is safe for portrait scanning.

As a breakthrough technology, Rigil Lite features marker-free laser scanning, it can capture feature-rich objects instantly without extensive preparation for marker placement, saving setup time and lowering the learning curve for beginners and achieving ideal results.

Advanced Multi-Tracking Modes-Improves Scanning Efficiency

Tracking is the foundation, efficiency matters most. The hybrid alignment freely combines features, markers, and texture for more stable tracking, delivering maximum smoothness and efficiency when switching modes under changing scanning conditions.

SHINING 3D and Accuracy Verification

In today’s 3D scanning market, devices of all price ranges and levels often emphasize “high accuracy,” yet for professional users, it can be difficult to determine whether the advertised performance matches real-world results. To develop a product that can truly guarantee high accuracy, the following key conditions are essential: rigorous standards compliance traceable, certified artifacts and unit-level, maximum-error guarantee.

As the developer, designer, and manufacturer of the Rigil Series, SHINING 3D is a technically strong and experienced company. Since 2004, SHINING 3D has been developing advanced and accessible 3D scanning hardware and software. For over 20 years, the company has focused on R&D and manufacturing of high-precision 3D scanners, which empower professionals worldwide in industrial metrology, full-field inspection, 3D modeling, reverse engineering, and digital dentistry.

SHINING 3D ensures reliability and accuracy through meticulous calibration and strict adherence to international standards, following VDI/VDE 2634 Part 2 & 3 guidelines for calibration conditions, items, methods, and result handling.

  • VDI/VDE 2634: Framework for traceable optical system accuracy (German engineering standard)
  • ISO 10360-13: International standard for acceptance and re-verification of optical 3D CMM systems

The production and quality inspection areas are placed on specially isolated foundations with constant environmental temperature and humidity, ensuring that all accuracy testing and calibration are conducted under identical, controlled conditions, eliminating variability at its source.

Accuracy evaluation of a measuring device requires a reliable “ground truth” reference with higher precision. For metrology products, each reference artifact is certified using a high-precision Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), achieving accuracy up to 2.4 µm + 2.8L/1000 µm, ensuring its reliability as a standard. These artifacts are not verified only once, but are regularly recalibrated by accredited laboratories at defined intervals

Building on this foundation, SHINING 3D has established a comprehensive product-level accuracy testing framework. Professional-grade devices undergo a two-stage testing process, including production-line testing and final quality inspection. Metrology-grade devices are subject to even stricter accuracy requirements, undergo additional testing cycles throughout the same two-stage process, and must also pass CNAS-accredited testing. Supported by SHINING 3D’s in-house CNAS-accredited accuracy laboratory, SHINING 3D metrology products are delivered with official CNAS certificates and test reports.

As a professional-grade scanner, each EinScan Rigil is subjected to five repeat tests using a 1000 mm sphere rod before leaving the factory, with the maximum deviation from each test—rather than the average—taken as the final accuracy result.

Why adopt such rigorous testing methods? Because they ensure consistency and performance under the worst-case conditions. This guarantees that every scan—from the very first to the last—meets the accuracy specified in the datasheet. It is a necessary procedure to translate theoretical accuracy into reliable real-world performance. By contrast, some brands only perform batch sampling before shipment and highlight the minimum errors observed during testing, meaning the actual performance of the device could fall far short of the advertised accuracy.

Leveraging SHINING 3D’s rigorous accuracy standards and continuous development and refinement of patented technologies, the Rigil Series demonstrates the full potential of a standalone all-in-one 3D scanner through its highly integrated hardware design and rich, user-friendly software function. Building on the core advantages of the EinScan Rigil, the launch of the Rigil Lite provides users with a lighter, more cost-effective option, offering a versatile, modern solution for engineering, manufacturing, digital content creation, and education and research applications. Its release marks SHINING 3D’s further deepening presence in the professional all-in-one 3D scanning market. Moving forward, SHINING 3D will continue to place rigorous manufacturing standards, precise measurement systems, and technological innovation at the core, driving 3D digitalization toward a more efficient and reliable future.
