One System, Two Work Modes

Tracker + Spherical Scanner for Large Objects, Handheld Scanner for Maximum Flexibility

Two scanning workflows in one system

Traditional large-scale scanning systems often require different scanning solutions for different tasks, as well as complex setups, and significant preparation time. The EinScan Trak Series simplifies the process by integrating two scanning workflows into one system.

Tracking Mode

In tracking mode, the spherical scanner works wirelessly together with the tracker to provide fast and expansive scanning for medium-to-large objects, making it well suited for applications such as automotive bodies and aftermarket modifications, speedboats as well as private yachts.

The tracker precisely tracks the spherical scanner’s pose using its retroreflective markers, eliminating the need to rely on continuous object features or markers for tracking. This enables a more flexible scanning workflow, allowing users to move efficiently between scanning areas while maintaining stable and reliable data capture across large objects.

Handheld Scanner Mode

For tasks that demand greater reach and flexibility, the scanner can be quickly detached and used independently as a wireless handheld laser scanner.

This mode is particularly effective for capturing data from small mechanical components, deep cavities, narrow spaces, and other hard-to-reach areas. As a handheld scanner, it requires no tracker setup, making it easier to deploy, transport, and operate for scanning.

Users can switch from tracking mode to scanner mode within the same project, ensuring complete data capture while improving workflow flexibility and efficiency.

Inside the Tracking System

The EinScan Trak system is built around two closely coordinated components: an optical tracker and a spherical scanner module designed for high-efficiency surface coverage. The spherical scanner module integrates a detachable handheld scanner, which can be released for flexible handheld operation.

Three Component of The Scanning System

The scanner integrates two 2MP depth cameras and a 5MP texture camera for simultaneous geometric and color data capture. Its laser projection system consists of crossed laser lines for high-efficiency scanning, parallel laser lines for capturing fine details, and a single laser line for deep-feature scanning, with each mode optimized for specific applications. The tracker is also equipped with a 5MP depth camera to enhance tracking performance and spatial capture.

Three Blue Laser Modes Built for Diverse Needs

7 Parallel Laser Lines

Featuring 7 parallel laser lines, this mode is designed for capturing sharp edges and fine details with exceptional clarity, making it particularly well suited for reverse engineering, mechanical components and measurement workflows. It enables precise capture of edges, contours, and intricate surface features, helping users acquire high-quality data for applications where detail is critical.

Single Laser Line

Optimized for challenging scanning scenarios, the single laser mode excels at capturing data from deep holes, narrow channels, internal structures, and other difficult-to-reach geometries. By extending scanning accessibility into areas that are often problematic for conventional scanning methods, it enables users to acquire detailed and reliable data for complex parts and demanding reverse engineering projects.

Wireless Large-Area Scanning

Designed for flexible scanning workflows, the EinScan Trak Series supports both wireless and wired operation, allowing users to move freely across different environments without cable constraints. It combines large-range rapid scanning with localized high-precision detail capture, enabling efficient coverage of full objects while still supporting fine-detail reconstruction when needed. Equipped with a high-capacity battery and a Wi-Fi 6 communication module, the system connects through an independent LAN and pairs automatically at startup, ensuring stable and fluid wireless scanning within a range of up to 4 meters.

Accurate multi-project alignment enables datasets captured from different tracker positions to be seamlessly merged through feature-based alignment, without requiring markers on the object. This ensures consistent high detail across large-scale scanning projects.

The Hybrid Leapfrog function further extends scanning flexibility by allowing users to continuously reposition the tracker while maintaining uninterrupted tracking and stable measurement reliability, significantly expanding the effective scanning range for large-area digitization.

Complementing this efficient workflow, the EinScan Trak Series delivers scanning speeds of up to 2,900,000 points per second, enabling users to capture large objects quickly and efficiently while accelerating demanding scanning projects.

All-Scenario Marker-Free 3D Scanning

Marker Free 3D Scanning

Marker placement has traditionally been one of the most time-consuming aspects 3D scanning. In many applications, such as vintage vehicle restoration, cultural heritage preservation, and artwork digitization, placing markers may also be impractical, undesirable, or even prohibited due to the nature and value of the objects being scanned.

The EinScan Trak Series addresses these challenges with advanced marker-free technologies, enabling marker-free scanning not only in tracking mode through its Marker-Free Tracking System, but also in handheld scanner mode, powered by SHINING 3D's laser marker-free technology. For objects with rich and non-repetitive geometric features, the handheld scanner uses surface features for tracking and alignment, allowing users to begin scanning immediately without additional setup. For applications requiring the highest level of scanning detail, global markers remain available as an option.
