Industry First: SHINING 3D Achieves Level 4 in ISO 56005 Innovation & Intellectual Property Management Capability Evaluation
Hangzhou, China – SHINING 3D has been awarded the Level 4 (System-Level) certification under Innovation and Intellectual Property Management Capability based on ISO 56005 international standard, becoming the first company in the 3D vision industry to achieve this distinction.
The certification recognizes SHINING 3D's mature innovation management system and its ability to integrate intellectual property (IP) management throughout the entire innovation lifecycle. It also demonstrates the company's advanced capabilities in aligning innovation strategy with business development, maximizing the value of intellectual property, and establishing a systematic innovation management framework.

About ISO 56005
ISO 56005, Innovation management - Tools and methods for intellectual property management - Guidance, is the first international standard dedicated to integrating intellectual property management into innovation management. The standard was proposed by China and developed under the ISO innovation management framework through international collaboration. It brings together internationally recognized best practices for managing innovation and intellectual property.
Rather than treating IP as a standalone compliance function, ISO 56005 embeds IP management throughout the entire innovation lifecycle. It emphasizes the alignment of innovation strategy, IP strategy, and business strategy to improve innovation efficiency, enhance innovation quality, and maximize the value created by innovation.
In China, organizations are assessed against ISO 56005 through a five-level maturity model that evaluates the effectiveness of their innovation and IP management capabilities. As of today, 167 organizations have achieved Level 3 (Project Level), 46 organizations have reached Level 4 (System Level), and only three organizations have attained the highest Level 5 (Ecosystem Level).
Innovation Excellence as the Foundation
ISO 56005 recognizes not only how organizations manage intellectual property, but also how effectively they generate innovation.
For more than two decades, SHINING 3D has focused on advancing high-precision 3D vision technologies through sustained investment in research and development. The company has consistently invested approximately 20% of its annual revenue in R&D for over ten consecutive years and has built a research team of more than 500 engineers, nearly half of whom hold master's or doctoral degrees.
Its innovation infrastructure includes a national postdoctoral research workstation, a provincial key enterprise research institute, and a CNAS-accredited accuracy laboratory, supporting a complete innovation chain from fundamental research and technology development to product validation.
This long-term commitment has resulted in a strong portfolio of proprietary technologies. By the end of 2025, SHINING 3D had been granted 336 invention patents, including 78 international patents, owned 237 software copyrights, and had 607 additional patent applications pending worldwide.
The company's innovation capability has also been recognized through numerous national and provincial honors. SHINING 3D has also led or participated in the development of one national metrology technical specification, four national standards, and two industry standards.

From Innovation to Value Creation
SHINING 3D has established an integrated intellectual property management system. Intellectual property considerations are embedded throughout the innovation process, ensuring that innovation outcomes are systematically transformed into competitive advantages.
This integrated approach has enabled the company to continuously convert proprietary technologies into internationally competitive products and solutions across its Industrial 3D Scanning and Digital Dentistry businesses. Today, SHINING 3D's technologies are widely deployed in automotive manufacturing, civil aviation, heavy equipment, energy, electronics, and digital dentistry, helping customers improve efficiency, enhance quality, and reduce costs.

The Level 4 recognition confirms not only SHINING 3D's innovation capability, but also the maturity of the management system that supports the creation, protection, and commercialization of intellectual property.
Looking ahead, SHINING 3D will continue strengthening the integration of innovation and intellectual property management, further enhancing its original technology capabilities while accelerating the industrialization and real-world adoption of advanced 3D vision technologies, contributing to the high-quality development of advanced manufacturing.
