Juliá Automobile, history and the team

Project Background

Juliá Automobile was commissioned to undertake a custom build for a 1995 Porsche 993 coupe. This work typically requires modernizing the chassis structure, body panels, and some parts while keeping the original design. This work requires high accuracy. Especially in areas with irregular curved surfaces and complex details, where errors can easily accumulate and amplify, affecting the final assembly precision.

 

Therefore, Juliá Automobile decided to introduce FreeScan Trak ProW, an optical 3D measuring and dynamic tracking system.

 

Why FreeScan Trak ProW Was Chosen

The FreeScan Trak ProW, with its advanced non-contact 3D scanning technology, provided the ideal solution. Its ultra-wide measuring range (8.6 m long tracking distance and 206.7 m³ tracking volume) improves overall scanning efficiency.

 

At the same time, the TE25W scanner allows for high-accuracy data acquisition without the need to manually apply markers on the vehicles surface—simplifying setup and eliminating potential surface interference. Moreover, the system is wireless, eliminating the hassle and restriction of cables in the workshop environment. This enhances operational flexibility, resulting in a smoother, more efficient workflow. Its metrology-grade accuracy (0.02 mm) is also critical, where even the slightest deviation can affect performance and authenticity.
