Application Engineer (Germany/USA)

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with sales staff in order to determine and log problems with Shining 3D products discovered in the field and/or during testing.
  • Provide feedback to the R&D for product improvement on a regular basis.
  • Create and conduct training programs for customers and Shining 3D’s sales. Develop curriculums, teaching aids and handouts, and conduct basic and advanced class.
  • Evaluate customer’s application requirements, when directed. Interpret drawings, CAD modeling and data, GD&T and inspection plans, reverse engineering and rapid. prototyping requirements, in order to prepare necessary documentation and provide advanced application specific assistance and support to customers and the Customer Service Department.
  • Communicate directly with customers and assist with any problems arising after installation and resolve any issues, adhering to established procedures and utilizing expertise, available tools and other technical personnel as needed.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and provide high-level pre-sales technical assistance for potential customers in support of the sales department transcending his/her established territory when directed.
  • Review data from customers including digital photographs, technical drawings, 3D models, inspections plans, mock-ups and parts. Contact customers to clarify requirements and explain the following steps in the process.
  • Perform MQC services when required. Travel to customer’s facility and provide services as needed, including 3D inspection, modeling and measurement, CAD data utilization, reverse engineering, inspection or consulting on rapid prototyping manufacturing issues.
  • Create training manuals, quick reference guides and review documentation for technical accuracy, as needed in support of Sales, Customer Service and Training.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field required and has working experience as Applications Engineer in the use of 3D imaging and rapid prototyping (additive manufacturing) is prefer.
  • Understanding of 2D and 3D CAD, Metrology, blueprint interpretation, GD&T.
  • Exhibits exceptional problem solving and interpersonal skills as recognized by peers.
  • English will be the major communication language, additional language skills as the assets.
