Webinar, September 1st

Paint protective film is a thermoplastic polyurethane film that also uses a polymer calendered PVC film, a binder, and a clay coated paper. It is mainly used in painted exteriors such as side mirrors, hoods, door edges, door handle pockets, bumpers, rocker arm panels and wheel flares. The film prevents stone chips, insect pests, automotive liquid stains, road tar stains, scratches, and outdoor weathering.

Applications include:

  • Automotive
  • Electrical and Electronics
  • Aerospace and Defense
  • Others

The Digital Approach with SHINING 3D and ExactFlat

Paint protection film is adhered to organically shaped surfaces that are difficult to measure.  Using 3D scanners on these surfaces, such as the lower front bumper fascia of a car, is a fast, easy, and accurate way to capture the geometry.  Once scans are processed, they can be flattened with ExactFlat to make templates or patterns for application on these surfaces.

In the upcoming webinar SHINING 3D and ExactFlat provide a thorough overview of the 3D scanning and design process for the digital pattern creation in order to easily and conveniently apply paint protection film.

We warmly invite you to join us o the journey to better and faster templates and patterns for paint protection film!
